A modern online retail experience that communicates the independent business experience of the young seamstress owner.
Challenge
How might we bring in new customers to a newly created independent business allowing for a good experience and showing off the clients personality?
Solution
Create an easy to navigate online retail experience utilizing best practices for showcasing products and leading potential customers to points of sales. Additionally, utilize the clients feedback to ensure that their personal aesthetic is still a major focus of the overall design.

Research
Before the initial conversation with the client, I gathered example pages from some of the major clothes retailers that have good online experiences to better guide the conversation.
Some elements I wanted to learn on the initial meeting were:
Text vs Symbols/Images
Preferred home page layouts
If product assets were being standardized
Testing Initial Designs
After the initial meeting, I gave the client a general timeline for the overall project and informed them of what they could expect from me next.
For this project, I sent the client two versions of the homepage and individual product pages as well as a design for the About Me and Contact Us Pages. I used these initial designs to gather feedback from the client on what the client enjoyed and what they wanted changed.
Prototype
The client was happy with the initial designs I gave them. Taking into account the feedback they gave, I moved into creating a full prototype of their site.
This prototype contained 19 screens in total.
The homepage and product list were made so that a customer would be able to see atleast two rows on one screen.
Two different individual product pages were created, one for large items such as shirts to allow for multiple images to be shown at once and another for smaller items such as the hair pin to allow for a carousel to show different colors quickly.
I showcased the functionality of the filter selection and contact us page both for the clients benefit and for any future developers.
Accomplishments
Successfully created an online retail experience that met the clients expectations.
Created and adhered to the timeline presented to the client.
Maintained a consistent level of communication with the client as to ensure they were kept up to date but did not have their time wasted.
